Water, water everywhere

Water, water everywhere
Summary

For those who love the water, but don’t plan on getting in it over the weekend, I Just Love to Paddle and Miss South Pacific: Beauty and the Sea make a round of appearances over the weekend. The former concentrates on local paddling legend Nappy Napoleon, who has made a yearly pilgrimage across the Kaiwi channel since he was 16, the film details Napoleon and a team of paddlers who crossed all the Hawaiian channels in a six day expedition, landing themselves in the history books. Miss South Pacific combines the annual beauty contest with a lesson on climate change, detailing how rising sea levels are affecting the lives of its inhabitants, as the threat of the some of the low-lying islands are under the threat of being completely submerged by the end of the century.

The directors, Marta Czajkowska and Mary Lambert, along with Miss South Pacific producer Teri Tico will speak of their efforts following the screening.
