Ecuador votes for new constitution by large margin
Ecuador's citizens approved a new constitution last month which ushers in a new era for the Latin American country. The final tallies report "SI 63,94%" – Yes 63.94% – and a no vote of 28.08%. The new document contains provisions for access to healthcare, social security and education while increasing state control over the economy. The constitution also outlaws foreign military bases, including the United States base located in the coastal town of Manta.
