September 8: Teach-in to raise awareness about Pakistan floods
Pakistani villagers displaced from their homes by flooding make their way through flood waters on August 23 in Punjab. Officials say as many as 20 million people have been affected during Pakistan's worst flooding in 80 years.

The University of Hawaii at Manoa’s Center for South Asian Studies is holding a fundraiser and teach-in to raise awareness and help the victims of the Pakistan floods on Wednesday, September 8 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at UH Manoa’s Kuykendall Hall Room 301.

The Teach-In will feature three panelists who will share relevant information about Pakistan, the floods, and how the media has portrayed this natural disaster. Also find out how you can donate money to organizations that are working in areas devastated by the flooding.

The event is also sponsored by Muslim Students Association and Lovers of South Asian Cultures.
